Director of Maintenance


Job Duties:

¨ Oversees the Maintenance and construction process to ensure the safety of our Team Members, Guests and animal collection. Prioritize work requests and needs and distributes them to team members. Schedule work, place vendor bids for materials, select vendors and prepare requisitions. Estimate job costs for input into budget database

¨ Responsible for all aspects of budgeting for the maintenance department

¨ Act as liaison with state and local officials having regulatory oversight and inspection responsibilities

¨ Ensures that Team Members are properly instructed and trained on the safe use of tools and equipment used while performing duties

¨ Ensures that Team Members are properly trained on appropriate techniques and craftsmanship to ensure the productive use of time and equipment and that jobs are completed properly

¨ Oversees Managers and Supervisor(s) and staff to ensure that work is scheduled appropriately. Assist in solving scheduling and task completion challenges

¨ Participate in planning and development of future rides, attractions, facilities and equipment

¨ Prepare and administer both operating and capital budgets. Audit and control expenses in all areas

¨ Act as liaison with corporate engineering staff and participate in briefings and presentations to senior management

¨ Effectively communicate with all other theme park divisions and operating departments

¨ Oversees and participates with the review and update of departmental documentation including requisitions, purchase orders, timecards, schedules, MSDS records, accident reports, ride documentation, etc.

¨ Interview, select and hire new Maintenance department Team Members

¨ Develops and implements departmental policies and procedures

¨ Works on a rotational basis as a "Manager on Duty" and Maintenance Manager on Duty for the park

¨ As needed, assist crews with daily tasks

¨ Other duties as requested or required

Minimum Qualifications:

¨ Excellent oral and written communication skills with computer proficiency

¨ Superb knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook

¨ Ability to plan, assign, train, appraise, and direct Team Members

¨ History of on-time and on-budget project performance

¨ Proven track record of a commitment to a safe work environment

¨ Have valid driver's license with a clean DMV driving record

¨ Demonstrate a working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOSH and other regulatory agencies and related rules and regulations

¨ Have the mental and physical capabilities necessary to perform job duties. Must be able to access all areas of the park. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Must be capable of bending, squatting and kneeling

¨ Must possess a strong working knowledge of the operation of hand and power tools, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and systems, gear drive motion control systems, heavy equipment, etc. Capable to train others on the safe and proficient usage of equipment

¨ Must be able to work outdoors in all weather condition and in muddy, dusty, wet and dirty conditions

¨ Available to work evenings, weekends and holidays
