JOB PURPOSE: Develop and oversee communication, season pass, media and retail partnerships, sponsorship efforts, in-park events and other promotional programs
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute public relations and communication strategy including serving as park spokesperson, developing press releases, press kits, media/community relations, crisis communication, new capital and park events
- Manage all points of external communication including web site, social media, brochures, park map and guides as well as some local advertising
- Assist in the evaluation of annual and incremental media buys with recommendations on timing and placement as well as promotional offers
- Develop and implement promotional partner programs at an in-park level
- Assist in production of promotional and advertising collateral and signage to support promotional programs
- Coordination and execution of promotional and membership special events and on-site media events
- Assist in monitoring fulfillment of sponsorship relationships
- Provide support to all members of the marketing department as needed
- Train, develop and schedule seasonal employees while maintaining labor budget
- Assist in preparation, implementation and measurement of department business plan and budget
- Manage the day to day operations of the Admissions Tracking System and Guest Satisfaction Survey programs to ensure that all quality control and performance measurement mechanisms meet/exceed targets
- Membership, season pass and ticket product set up and testing
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Marketing
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum two years of Promotions, Sponsorship, or Marketing experience. Theme park, entertainment or tourism related business experience preferred
- A BA/BS degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Management or related discipline preferred
- Strong management and communication skills
- Proven ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with strategic business partners
- Strong strategic and creative thinking capabilities
- Excellent computer knowledge, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites and Social Media platforms required
- Excellent motivational, leadership and team building skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays and an extended work week, when required
- Must be able to sit and/stand/or walk for long periods of time throughout the day
- Must be able to work outdoors in the park at various times throughout the year
- Requires occasional kneeling and bending
- Requires occasional walking, reaching above shoulder, pushing and pulling
- Requires occasional lifts and carries up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to lift and lower 25 pounds above shoulder level
- Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level is generally moderate to high.
